During the first week of the term have students participate in a variation of the Name Game. In this exercise, students introduce themselves by adding an adjective in front of their name beginning with the same letter or sound (“I’m Awesome Amy,” “I’m Cool Kristina”). The trick is that each subsequent student must begin by listing all of the other students who were introduced before (similar to the game I’m Going on a Picnic). The instructor should be the first and last to participate. This aids in name recognition for both the students and the instructor.
