If you have typed questions, in a Word document for example, that you'd like to copy and paste into LaunchPad, you can do that using the import questions feature. Questions cannot be imported by uploading a file at this time.

For video instructions, please click on the image below. Scroll down to continue with the article.

This article will guide you through this process starting with creating a quiz. If you have already created a quiz, you can edit it to import questions. Find the quiz in your table of contents, hover over it, click More Options, then click Edit. Then skip to the step Click "Questions" tab

Create a quiz

Choose the LaunchPad unit in which you want to create a quiz (in this case, Unit 4). Click Add to this unit and then Create new from the drop-down menu.

Select "Quiz"

Enter basic info

Title your quiz, and add a subtitle or directions as needed. Click Save. You'll see a green checkmark letting you know your quiz has been saved.

Click "Questions" tab

Important Note: If your quiz has a Search Questions tab and a Review & Modify tab instead of a Questions tab, you are using a different type of quiz and some of these instructions do not apply to you. Click on the Review & Modify tab, then click the Import Questions link at the top. Then jump to the step Import questions window.

Create > Import Questions

Click the drop-down arrow next to the Create button in the right pane and select Import Questions from the drop-down menu.

Import questions window

A window pops up and gives directions on how questions should be formatted in order for them to be properly uploaded.

For a multiple choice question, each question should start with 1. and be successively numbered, which each number followed by a period. Each answer choice should occupy its own line. The first answer choice should start with A. and each successive choice should start with the next letter followed by a period. The correct answer choice should have an asterisk (*) before the letter.

If you wish to view a sample multiple choice question, click + Sample questions. A link to view a Multiple Select question is available as well. (Depending on your LaunchPad, this may say Fill in the Blank instead of Multiple Select, but it still provides a sample of a Multiple Select question.)

These samples show how you can specify a title, number of points, and general feedback for each question that you import.
