Please note: The Canvas/Macmillan Writer's Help 2.0 integration will be available in your Canvas course only after your Canvas LMS Administrator has completed the integration setup with the assistance of Macmillan Learning. You will be notified by either your Canvas Administrator or your Macmillan Rep when this preparatory work has been completed.

Check for "Macmillan Learning" in left navigation menu

On your Canvas course home page, in the Course Navigation panel, confirm that a link exists for Macmillan Learning. If the Macmillan Learning link is not present, please continue following the steps in this article. If it is present, proceed to the next article, Pair your Canvas course with a LaunchPad or Writer's Help 2.0 course.

Click on the image to zoom in.

Click "Settings," then "Apps"

On your Canvas course home page, in the Course Navigation panel, click Settings, then Apps.

Click on the image to zoom in.

Find the Macmillan Higher Education app

Scroll down the page or use the search function to find the Macmillan Higher Education app. Click the app.

Click "+ Add App"

Enter your "Consumer Key" and "Shared Secret"

On the Add App panel enter the Consumer Key and Shared Secret provided by your Macmillan Sales Engineer and click Submit. You may use the same key and secret to add the Macmillan App to all of your Canvas courses, semester to semester.

Confirm that "Macmillan Learning" displays in App Configuration

Canvas will display the App Configuration page, which now lists the Macmillan app. Your own Canvas system may or may not list the Macmillan app’s extensions. Either case is fine.

Refresh your browser and go to the Navigation tab

You'll see the Macmillan Learning app at the bottom of the course navigation list. Drag and drop the Macmillan Learning app to the spot where you want it in the list and click Save.

Confirm that the app is now in the left navigation menu
