LaunchPad, Writer's Help 2.0 > I purchased a package with an access card in the bookstore and have already registered the code on the card. How do I integrate with Canvas?

The following instructions are for Writer's Help 2.0, but the same steps apply when using LaunchPad.

If you followed the instructions on the Writer's Help 2.0 access card that was shrink-wrapped with the package you purchased in your bookstore, then you probably went directly to the URL of your Writer's Help 2.0 title and registered your access code there. Sound familiar? If so, follow these steps to link the Writer's Help 2.0 account you created with your Canvas course.

Log in to your institution's Canvas site

Enter your Canvas username and password. Click Login.

Find your instructor's course

Open your course by clicking the course tile on your dashboard or by opening up the Courses menu at the far left.

Locate your Writer's Help 2.0 assignments

Navigate to where your instructor has put Writer's Help 2.0 content and click on the content area to open it.

  1. You can find Writer's Help 2.0 assignments as well as other assignments on the Assignments page, which you can access from the left navigation menu.
  2. It may be difficult to tell which of your assignments comes from Writer's Help 2.0, so if you see an option in the left navigation labeled Writer's Help 2.0LaunchPad, or Macmillan Learning, choose it.

Click on a Writer's Help 2.0 assignment or link


From the Assignments page: Click on the title of any Writer's Help 2.0 assignment. Doing so will begin the process of linking Canvas with Writer's Help 2.0.

From the Macmillan Tools page: Click on the link to your Writer's Help 2.0 homepage. Doing so will begin the process of linking Canvas with Writer's Help 2.0.

 

Which screen do you see?

You'll see one of a few different screens, depending on how your campus IT team set up your institution's Canvas integration with Writer's Help 2.0. When you see your screen, follow the instructions provided.

 

Accept the Legal Terms

 

 

Click Change to enter the e-mail address you used to create your Writer's Help 2.0 account

If you see a screen asking you to register, and the e-mail address displaying is your Canvas address, then the system doesn't recognize you because you used a different e-mail to register for Writer's Help 2.0 when you registered your code from the bookstore. Simply click Change and enter the e-mail address you used to register for Writer's Help 2.0.

If you don't remember what e-mail address you used to register, we can look it up for you. Please contact tech support (Higher Ed only).

 

Enter the e-mail address you used to create your Writer's Help 2.0 account

If you see a screen asking you whether you already have an account, enter the e-mail address you used to create your Writer's Help 2.0 account and click Go.

If you don't remember what e-mail address you used to register, we can look it up for you. Please contact tech support (Higher Ed only).

 

Enter the password you used to create your Writer's Help 2.0 account

If you see this screen, then the system recognizes your e-mail address. Enter the password associated with your Writer's Help 2.0 account.

  • If you know the password associated with this account, enter it.
  • If you've forgotten it, have it e-mailed to you by clicking click here.
 

Click Continue to Site to begin working in Writer's Help 2.0

 

You will be taken to the assignment you clicked on in Canvas to initiate this process.
