You can upload a single file or link to your course or upload multiple files at once. You can also manage your files in Sapling Learning without posting link in your course. If you choose to manage your files in this way, you can link to a directory of files in your course.

Single file or link

Scroll to the block where you want the link to appear. From the Add a resource... drop-down menu, select Link to a file or web site.

Click on the image to zoom in.

Give the resource a "Name"

Your entry in the Name field will become the link text.

Click on the image to zoom in.

Enter the URL or select file

From here, you can choose to link to an external website or one of your own files.

External website

Enter the URL in the Location field.

Click Save and return to course.

If you see the desired file in the list, jump to Click Choose for the desired file. Otherwise, click Upload A File at the bottom right.

The link is now added to your topic block. Note that any file you post will remain private to just the members of your course.

Managing files and folders

You can create and organize folders to store the files you upload to Sapling Learning.

Click "Course Management" then "Files"

Click on Course Management in the left-hand navigation menu of your Sapling course page, then click Files.

Click "Upload A File" to add a new file

Click Upload a File to add to your list of available files. Files added in this manner won't be linked on the course page until you add the link using the method described above.

Create a folder

Additionally, you can create folders to which you can move existing files, or upload new files. Click Make A Folder to create a new folder.

Move, delete, or create a zip file

Select files in your list by clicking the checkboxes at the left of each file. Click the With chosen files... drop-down and select which action you want to take with these files.

Move to another folder

After selecting one or more files to move, click Move to another folder. The file(s) will not move right away. You must click on the folder you want to move them to, then click the Move Files To Here button.

This option allows you to put a link on your course page to one of your file folders within the course.

Add a resource to the desired topic block

Scroll to the block in which you want the directory (folder) to appear. From the Add a resource... menu, click Display a directory.

Click on the image to zoom in.

Your entry in the Name field will become the link text. It can be the same or different from the name of your folder.

Click "Course Management" then "Files"

Click on Course Management in the left-hand navigation menu of your Sapling course page, then click Files.
