LaunchPad is designed to make it as easy as possible for you to access the resources and assignments you need to succeed in your course.

There are two different avenues you can take for finding unassigned resources and we will explore both in this article. If you're trying to learn how to enter your course and access your assignments, please refer to the help article Navigating LaunchPad.

Avenue 1 -- Opening up LaunchPad units. You can follow this path to open up and explore the units on your LaunchPad homepage.

Avenue 2 -- Browsing LaunchPad resources. You can follow this path to find various unassigned resources that can help you further your understanding of the course material.

Avenue 1 -- Opening up LaunchPad units

When you first enter your course you will see a list of assigned items at the top. Below those are the unassigned units for your course. Often these units will be broken up by chapter or by subject matter.

Open up a unit

To open an unassigned LaunchPad unit, click on the arrow to the left of the unit.

Select a sub-unit

Inside the unit you will see all the sub-units you can choose from. You may, for example, see sub-chapters. You will also see any study resources, assigned or unassigned, associated with that unit. In the image below you can see there's an unassigned LearningCurve.

  1. You can continue to open up the sub-units if you wish by clicking the arrows on the left side.
  2. You can click on the resource to open it up.

Open up a resource

Once you have drilled down through the unit and located the resource you want, you can click on it to open it up.

Study with your resource

You are now ready to begin studying with your resource. In the example below, you can see the LearningCurve resource.

Use Previous and Next to access other sub-units

You can navigate from unit to unit or sub-unit to sub-unit using the Previous and Next buttons on the upper right hand side of the screen.

It's IMPORTANT to remember to save your work before you navigate away from a resource for which you've submitted answers.

Click Home to return to the LaunchPad table of contents

Once again, it's IMPORTANT to remember to save your work before you navigate away from a resource for which you've submitted answers.

Avenue 2 -- Browsing LaunchPad resources

You can follow this path to find various unassigned resources that can help you further your understanding of the course material.

To begin, CLICK on the Resources icon.

Choose your Resource

From the resources dialog box you will see three different ways to navigate through your resources.

  1. Search Course
  2. Content by type
  3. Content by chapter

Search Course

  1. Use the dialog box to search for the resource you're looking for.
  2. Once you locate the resource you want, click on the blue icon to open it.

Content by type

You can also find resources by browsing content by type. After you've clicked the Resources button on the LaunchPad home page, click Content by Type.

Select the content type you wish to explore

You will see a wide variety of different resources to choose from. Click on a content type to see all the resources within it.

In this screenshot we've used Vocabulary Flashcards as an example.

Click on the resource you want to open

Begin studying with your resource.

Follow the instructions to begin studying.

In this example you can see what a vocabulary flashcard exercise looks like.

Content by chapter

Finally, you can find resources by browsing content by chapter. After you've clicked the Resources button on the LaunchPad home page, click Content by chapter.

Select the chapter you want to explore

If there are a lot of resources available in a chapter it may take several seconds to open up.

Click on the resource you want to study with

From here you have two choices:

  1. Choose a sub-chapter to drill deeper into the chapter, OR;
  2. Choose a resource to study with.

Begin studying with your resource.

In this example you can see what a statistical video looks like.
