Eight Diagnostic tests are available to help instructors identify potential problem areas in each student's study of reading and writing. Each of the four topics: Sentence Grammar; Style, Punctuation, and Mechanics; Reading Skills; and Reading Strategies features a pre- and post-test to assess each student's improvement over time.

Click "Options"

The Diagnostics chapter is the second entry in the Table of Contents. As you hover over each entry in the Contents, you will see an Options button.

To assign all Diagnostics at once:

If you'd like to assign all eight tests as a unit, hover your cursor over Diagnostics, then click on Options.

To assign one Diagnostic at a time:

Expand the cluster to select the Diagnostic you'd like to assign. Hover your cursor over the title, then click Options.

From the drop-down menu

Click Assign.

From the Manage Assignment screen

You can put the Diagnostics in an existing assignment unit or you can create a new assignment unit by clicking Create New. Set a due date for your assignment, then click Assign. For more information on creating assignments and the Manage Assignment screen, please refer to the help article How do I create assignments?. Your assignment will show in the Table of Contents and on your Assignments page.
