Important Note: Macmillan's deep integration is supported for only Moodle 2.8.6 or higher. If using an earlier version of Moodle, please discuss your integration options with your Macmillan System Support Engineer.

Integration of a Moodle LMS instance with Macmillan must be coordinated with either a Macmillan System Support Engineer or LMS Coordinator (see Technical Support for the Moodle Administrator) who will directly support the Moodle administrator during the integration setup, testing process, and on-going.

After Macmillan’s eLearning Specialist or Sales Engineer has had an initial conversation with the Moodle administrator to jointly review the school’s preferred implementation strategy and other requirements, they will arrange for the “on-boarding” call. The objective of the call is to ultimately complete integration setup in the school's Moodle Production environment, including any testing that may be required, and to clear use of the integration service by interested faculty. If required, the integration setup may be first completed in a Moodle development, stage, or QA environment.

Setup for deep integration with Macmillan Learning’s LaunchPad platform is fairly straightforward and requires the Moodle administrator to perform a few routine installation and configuration steps:
To ensure that a Moodle LMS on-boarding session can be completed successfully, a few facts about the school’s adoption and LMS installation should be known so that Macmillan’s engineer can complete certain preparatory tasks in advance of the on-boarding call:

Who are the instructors? Which Macmillan titles do they intend to use? Have they already created and activated their Macmillan courses?

It would be helpful to know the name and the Macmillan course ID of the Macmillan product for at least one course and the name of its instructor. The Macmillan engineer and the Moodle administrator may use this information during the testing portion of their on-boarding call. If instructor course details are not available at the time of the on-boarding the Macmillan engineer will provide a test LaunchPad course and user credentials

What is the base URL for the school’s Moodle installation? Macmillan needs this to create the school’s LMS installation profile in its integration database.

Ideally, this information will be available before the on-boarding; however the Moodle administrator can bring this information to the call, and the Macmillan Sales Engineer can create the school’s LMS installation profile at that time.
