Standard Exercises (SE) feature a "main" problem with a number of associated problems within the main exercise. They include:

  • Short answer (numerical or algebraic input)
  • Multiple choice or multiple select
  • Essay response (stored but not graded)

Many of the standard exercises offer delayed feedback, where the system stores the answer but does not reveal whether it is correct/incorrect until after the assignment is due.

Interactive Examples (IE) allow you to enter an answer, but also give you the option to click Help. If you do, you'll be asked to answer a series of questions designed to help you understand the question, apply the concepts, and learn to solve the problem.
