You may designate one remote as the instructor remote for your own use in class. The instructor remote controls polling and moves between slides in your presentation software, allowing you freedom to move around the room while conducting iClicker polling sessions.

Review the instructor remote options.

As shown above, the five response buttons (A, B, C, D, E) control key functions of the iClicker polling software. The iClicker 2 instructor remote includes a laser pointer and also provides the capability to change the question type.

Change the Frequency of an Instructor Remote

Important: In order to change your frequency, your instructor must first start a polling session. You cannot change your frequency unless their is an active polling session.

1. Press and hold the Power button until the two-letter frequency on the LCD flashes.
2. Use the A-E buttons to enter the new two-letter frequency code. A checkmark appears on the LCD indicating the frequency change was successful.

TIPS:

Many instructors use the blue standard iClicker remote as the instructor remote. There are no technical differences between the blue iClicker 1or iClicker + instructor remote and a white iClicker 1 or iClicker + student remote, respectively. The color is designated to make it easier for you to keep track of your individual and loaner remotes. The iClicker 2 instructor remotes, on the other hand, are designed specifically for use by instructors and cannot be used as student remotes.

To use the instructor remote to control your presentation software, the presentation software must be the "active" application on your computer screen. If iClicker becomes the "active" program, select the presentation screen to make the presentation the "active" application again.
