You can manually integrate iClicker Cloud with Blackboard Learn by exporting iClicker Cloud scores and uploading the scores to the Blackboard Grade Center.

Important: Manual integration requires your students to enter their Blackboard Learn username in the Student ID field of their Reef account.

Export a Blackboard Learn-formatted .csv from iClicker Cloud

Review the exported usernames

Students with blank or unrecognized Usernames (from iClicker Cloud's Student ID field) will not upload a score into Blackboard's grade book. Even when blank or unrecognized entries are present, however, the file will upload successfully for recognized Usernames.

Delete unwanted grade items

The exported file contains a grade item for the total as well as grade items for the individual session scores. You should delete either the total or the individual session columns to avoid counting scores twice. Although Blackboard provides an interface to selectively import grade items, deleting the columns now will save you time later.

Go to Full Grade Center in Blackboard

Sign into Blackboard Learn and select your course. Navigate to your course's Full Grade Center. The Full Grade Center option is part of the Grade Center, which is found under the COURSE MANAGEMENT section of the left navigation panel.

Click the "Work Offline" button and select "Upload"

The Work Offline button is found on the right side of the Grade Center's table of scores.

From the "Upload Grades" page, attach your exported .csv file and submit

  • Use the Browse My Computer button to find and attach your exported file.

  • Leave the Delimiter Type set to the default value Auto.

Select the column(s) you want to add to the Grade Center and submit.

If you haven't already manipulated the file prior to uploading, you can select grade items to ignore here. You should either ignore the Total grade item or the session grade items as including both will double-count scores.

You may see an error message on this page if there are any unrecognized usernames. Students without a recognized username will not have their score uploaded but the .csv file will still upload successfully for the remaining matching student data.

Upon submitting, your session scores will appear as entries in Blackboard's Grade Center.
