Enabling iClicker Remotes in iClicker Cloud

Students may use both the student Reef app and iClicker remotes to respond to the polls that you present using the iClicker Cloud software.

Plug in base, then open software

To enable the use of iClicker remotes in your iClicker Cloud polling and quizzing sessions, you must have your iClicker base plugged into your computer before launching your iClicker Cloud instructor software. After plugging in your base, open your instructor software. You will see an iClicker enabled indicator on the Course dashboard, indicating that it's properly connected to your computer.

Change base frequency and firmware if needed

If another instructor is using an iClicker base in close proximity, one of you will want to use a different channel to avoid interference. The Base Frequency settings are found in the course settings on the Clickers tab. Note: iClicker Cloud requires a base running firmware v5.04 or newer. You can check the version of your Base Station Firmware in the Clickers tab by clicking the Check Frequency button. Visit the iClicker website for base firmware utilities to update your base firmware if needed. 

Instruct students to change remote frequency to match base

Make sure student remotes are on the same frequency that you've set for your base. The remote's frequency code briefly appears on the LCD screen when the remote is turned on. To change the frequency code, students press and hold the Power button until the LCD screen shows a flashing frequency code. They should then enter the desired frequency code using the clicker buttons. A checkmark will briefly appear on the remote LCD indicating that they have successfully reset the frequency code. Important: They cannot change the frequency code until you have started a polling or quizzing session.
