is an online resource packed with digital content that is designed to help you sharpen your ability to read analytically and write successfully in first-year composition class and in your coursework across campus. Whether your instructor assigns the resources in Writer's Help 2.0 or encourages you to work with the material at your own pace, we’re confident that Writer's Help 2.0 will help you develop the skills you need to succeed in college and beyond. Smart search

We asked 1,600 students how they use references and how they search for help with writing problems. We built the smart search with their responses in mind—Writer's Help 2.0 gives reliable results even when you aren’t familiar with composition terms and instead use terms like flow, point, or getting unstuck. It also responds to broad search terms like research and to common teacher comments like need more details.

Writer’s Help 2.0 provides explanations and examples, exercises, key terms, charts, and sample student work—all in a convenient online format.


Writer’s Help 2.0 includes hundreds of exercises to help you practice the skills you need to write successfully in college and beyond. Many of these exercises are automatically scored to give you instant feedback. You can complete exercises even if your instructor hasn’t assigned them, but it’s a great idea to ask your instructor whether he or she intends to assign any exercises as part of your coursework before you begin practicing with exercises in Writer’s Help 2.0.


Developed in light of the latest advances in learning research, LearningCurve is a game-like adaptive quizzing program that covers topics from grammar and usage to reading critically and argument. The less you know about a topic, the more LearningCurve focuses on it. As you improve, the questions become more challenging, helping you concentrate on exactly what you need to learn.
