Chapter AP® Review Problem Videos

Created by the Solutions authors, James Bush and Owen Glennon, these short videos feature step-by-step instruction for all of the Chapter AP® Review Problems that appear at the end of most chapters in the textbook. The videos give students detailed help and expert tips in solving problems and preparing for the AP® Calculus exam.

Short video clips that walk students through each step in the process of solving problems throughout the book.

Calculus AB Flashcards

Written by Erica Chauvet for use with the AB course, this black/line master is set up for easy duplication and distribution to students throughout the course.

Dynamic Figures

Interactive versions of figures throughout the book.

Dynamic Figure Voice-Over

Short videos that display interactive versions of figures throughout the book, with an explanation of each element of the figure.

A complete online version of the textbook, the e-Book replicates the print book in a mobile friendly form that allows for online or offline access. In addition to LaunchPad’s notes and highlighting features, teachers can easily hide chapters or sections that they don’t cover in their course, rearrange the order of chapters and sections, and add their own content directly into the e-Book.

Errata for Students

A list of corrected errors for the textbook and web chapters.

Graphing Calculator Tutorial

The Calculator Guide gives tips on how to get the most out of a TI calculator in an AP® Calculus course.

Developed with the latest advances in learning research in mind, LearningCurve’s game-like adaptive quizzing is available for every chapter of the text.

LearningCurve provides a unique learning path for each student, with quizzes shaped by each individual’s correct and incorrect answers. The less a student knows about a topic, the more LearningCurve focuses on it. And the better a student does, the more difficult the questions become. Feedback for each question includes live links to e-Book pages relevant to the topic at hand, guiding students to the reading they need to do to address areas that are giving them difficulty.

Because LearningCurve is a formative assessment and not graded on a A-F scale, many instructors have found it to be an ideal source for pre-class assignments, with students coming to class more prepared to participate. LearningCurve is equally effective when used as a post-class review. Instructors have also found that making LearningCurve a small percentage of the overall grade further incentivizes students to take advantage of it when preparing for class.

Student Solution Manual

Written by James Bush and Owen Glennon, the Student Solutions Manual includes solutions to the odd-numbered problems in the section practice sets, end-of-chapter review exercises, and Chapter AP® Review problems. The SSM also includes a full set of solutions to each of the four AP® practice tests. Available for download as chapter-by-chapter PDFs.

Welcome Page

The welcome page provides an introduction to LaunchPad. It explains the Welcome Unit Quiz and provides answers to a few Frequently Asked Questions.

AP® Skill Builders

Written by Erica Chauvet and Brent Ferguson, all AP® Skill Builders that appear in the Teacher's Edition to accompany Calculus for the AP® Course, Second Edition are provided here in PDF format.

Bell Ringers

Written by Erica Chauvet and provided as PowerPoint slide sets for most chapters, each set of bell ringers is made up of short problems to engage students as soon as the bell rings. Chapters 4 and 5 have two sets of bell ringers, because of the number of important concepts in those chapters. The bell ringers usually review concepts from the foregoing chapter, with a strong stress on the three big ideas of the AB course: limits, derivatives, and integrals.

Dynamic Figure Questions

Multiple-choice questions that accompany each dynamic figure in the book, available in PDFs for each chapter.

Errata for Teachers

A list of corrected errors for the Annotated Teacher’s Edition.

Prepared Tests and Quizzes

Two or more paired tests are available to help assess your students’ progress in each chapter. Each test is roughly 4 pages long and is designed to be scored a maximum of 50 points, making percentages simple. Solutions for each are included.

Projects with Solutions

Detailed solutions to the Chapter Opening Projects are provided as individual files corresponding to the chapter where a project appears.

The SolutionMaster presents the Teacher's Solutions Manual in a digital form wherein each solution is an individual entity, allowing instructors to compile a “solution set” (comparable to a traditional answer key) for any applicable purpose.

Teacher’s Solutions Manual

Written by James Bush and Owen Glennon, the TSM offers worked solutions to every problem in the text and is available for download as chapter-by-chapter PDFs.

Web Resources with URLs

A guide with suggestions for useful third-party support.

Skill-building worksheets, with solutions, are available to support almost all sections of the book. The worksheets contain problems that parallel the examples and that give student extra practice in concepts. The typical worksheet is a manageable single page.
