Whether you are entering your own questions into a quiz or editing a publisher-provided question, you can provide feedback to students after they answer a question. All question types have general feedback, which is given to students regardless of their answer, and some question types, like multiple choice and short answer/fill-in-the-blank, offer specific feedback for each answer choice.

Edit your quiz and view questions

Locate the quiz in your table of contents, hover over it, click More Options, then click Edit. Click on the Questions tab to view your questions. Depending on your LaunchPad, you may see a Review & Modify tab instead.

Edit your question

If your quiz has a Questions tab, hover over the question and click the Edit link.

If your quiz has a Review & Modify tab, click the Edit link on the right of the question.

Click on the image to zoom in.

Click "Add Feedback" in the lower right hand corner of the "Question Editor"

Note that if you've already started editing this question, the link in the lower right may read Edit Feedback.

Add general feedback in the first text editor

Notice that the question is visible behind the gray bar at the top of the editor. This is how you know this box is appropriate for adding general feedback.

Students will receive this feedback regardless of their answer choice(s).

Add feedback for the first answer in the following text editor

Notice that the answer is visible here behind the gray bar at the top of the text editor.

In multiple choice questions: Students will only receive this feedback if they select this answer.
In short answer/fill-in-the-blank questions: Students will only receive this feedback if they get this answer incorrect.

Repeat to add feedback for each answer choice

Hide feedback

If ever you need to hide the feedback and review the question, click Hide Feedback in the lower right corner of the question editor. Your progress editing the feedback will not be lost if you hide feedback in the middle of working on it.

Click "Save"

When you are finished editing the feedback, click the blue Save button at the bottom of the question editor.
