iClicker Classic Canvas Integration: Broken Connection

On October 28, 2017 there was an undocumented Canvas production update that has caused issues with the iClicker Classic Canvas integration. Instructors who click the “Sync Roster” button have reported that their students are no longer showing as registered in the iClicker Classic gradebook, and that the roster names are turning from blue (registered) to red (unregistered). This only occurs when the “Sync Roster” button is clicked.

This is a result of the sis_login_id (i.e. StudentID or username) not being downloaded from Canvas; because student registration is often associated with the ID, the sync is no longer occurring as it should.

Until we are able to release an update to accommodate this change in Canvas, instructors who have integrated iClicker Classic with Canvas should make a copy of the roster_canvas file prior to clicking “Sync Roster”. If “Sync Roster” has already been clicked and registrations have been removed from the iClicker Classic Gradebook view, please contact iClicker Support for assistance with an available workaround.
