Before you begin the registration process for your iClicker remote, check with your instructor for any instructions specific to his/her course, and ensure that you know which devices will be allowed in class. Each course might be using iClicker differently, so it is important to follow the registration provided by each instructor. You must also know which iClicker software your instructor will be using to conduct polls–iClicker Classic or iClicker Cloud–because iClicker remote registration differs based on the system in use.
Choose the scenario relevant to your course and follow the registration instructions.
My instructor is using iClicker Classic
You will either register your iClicker remote directly through a link in your school's Learning Management System (Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, Desire2Learn, or Sakai), or at the iClicker website; your instructor should let you know which scenario is relevant for the course. If you have a used iClicker remote, you may need to pay a one-time registration fee of $6.99 USD when you register at the iClicker website. Please note that you will only need to register your remote once if you are using it in multiple iClicker Classic classes.
My instructor is using iClicker Cloud
Regardless of which device you’ll be using to participate in class, you must create a free iClicker Reef account to ensure that your grades sync to your instructor’s iClicker gradebook. You can do this by downloading the mobile app via the App Store or Google Play, or by visiting the Reef student website. Then, add your instructor's course in Reef or register your Reef account in your learning management system. Your instructor should inform you which scenario is relevant for the course. You might also need to add a student ID to your Reef profile. Ask your instructor which student ID you should use if this is the case.
Next, add your iClicker remote ID to the profile section of your Reef account. You will not need to pay for a Reef subscription if you are using only your iClicker remote to participate in class, and can ignore the “Buy or Extend Subscription” message that will appear in your Reef account.
Upon signing up, you will have a two week free-trial period with Reef. After that point, you will need to purchase a Reef subscription or obtain an access code if you want the flexibility to participate in iClicker sessions with your mobile device, tablet, or laptop in addition to your iClicker remote.
