Copy your Macmillan course
Follow these instructions to copy your Macmillan course and batch update your due dates (not available in Writer's Help 2.0). Make independent copies of your Macmillan course for new semesters. Only use the master course with branches when teaching multiple sections in a single term.
Access your new D2L/Brightspace shell
Click on Course Admin and then click on Import / Export / Copy Components.
Note: Course Admin might also be called Edit Course or another variation in your D2L course. It is usually located at the top right of the course. If you cannot locate Course Admin in your courses, please contact your D2L/Brightspace Administrator.
Select "Copy Components from Another Org Unit" and "Search for an Offering"
Important: Do not use Import Components or the copied Macmillan links will not function properly.
Find your course
In the Search For: text field, type the name of the course that you wish to copy and click Search. Click the radio button next to the left of your course and click Add Selected.

- To copy the entire course, click Copy All Components.
- To copy specific content, click Select Components. Watch this video for additional instructions for copying selected components.
Note: If you choose Select Components, make sure to also copy the associated External Learning Tools or the Macmillan links will not function properly in the new course.

Note: Make sure to only delete gradebook columns associated with Macmillan content.

Select Macmillan gradebook items and click Delete. You may leave the gradebook categories unchecked.
Link your new Macmillan course to D2L/Brightspace
Note: If you do not link your new Macmillan course to D2L/Brightspace, the Macmillan links will produce error messages.
Run a content refresh to reset the Macmillan links and import the new due dates. Run a grade refresh to bring back the gradebook columns.
Note: Due dates must be set in your Macmillan course and cannot be set in D2L/Brightspace. Make sure to run a content refresh even if you are not changing Macmillan due dates
