Do students need to associate their Reef accounts at the beginning of the course?

No, but neither the instructor nor the student will see Reef scores in the LMS until the accounts are associated. Once the association is made, all past and future selected session scores be synchronized.


How can an instructor tell which students have associated their Reef accounts?

Students who have associated their LMS and Reef accounts should show scores for their Reef sessions in the LMS. Those who have not will not show a score. Instructors can see the list of students who have completed the association using the Macmillan Roster Information option from the Macmillan Learning Tool page.


What if a student accidentally associates the wrong iClicker Reef account?

Students can check their Reef association information using the Macmillan User Profile option at the Macmillan Learning Tool page from their account. If the information is incorrect, there is an option to disassociate the Reef account; students can then redo the association with the correct information.


What if an instructor accidentally associates the wrong iClicker Cloud account?

Instructors can check their association information using the Macmillan User Profile option from the Macmillan Learning Tool page. If the information is incorrect, there is an option to disassociate the account. The course should be disassociated first, followed by dissociating the profile.


When an instructor clicks any of the synchronized assignments links in the LMS, it opens iClicker Cloud, not iClicker Reef. Does this mean the same thing will happen for students when they click the link in their account?

No, instructors are taken to the iClicker Cloud website because they have the instructor role in the LMS. Users with a student role in the LMS will be redirected to the iClicker Reef website.


Why is there an iClicker Cloud Home option in the list of content to sync? What is that for?

iClicker Cloud Home is an option instructors can choose that allows them to make a Reef association link before they have any iClicker session data. This allows students to start associating their accounts prior to the instructor running any polling or quizzing sessions. We recommend renaming the iClicker Cloud Home link Reef Account Registration to be more meaningful to students.

Canvas-Specific: Because it is a non-graded option, the iClicker Cloud Home link must be located in a module. Don’t forget that both the link and module must be published for students to see it.
