iOLab for Mac requires OSX 10.9 or higher.

Download the installer file. It will appear at the bottom of your browser.

Extract application

Use the drop-down arrow to the right of the downloaded zip file and click Show in Finder.

Double click on the zip file to extract the file.

Important: You must extract the file before you can run the iOLab software.

Optional: Click and drag the file to your desktop so you can easily find and open it later.

Run the application

Double-click on the application to open it.

If you experience an error that "iOLab can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer," you can bypass this error by right-clicking (Ctrl+click) on the iOLab app icon and clicking Open

You may still be warned that iOLab is from an unidentified developer, but now you can click Open to open the app anyway. After doing this once, you will be able to open the app normally by double-clicking on it.

Updating software

iOLab software does not update automatically. If you wish to install an update, you must repeat the software installation process with the latest installer file.

Previous software versions

If you are experiencing issues with the latest version of the software, you may want to try installing a previous version. Links to several installer files for previous versions are provided below.

Uninstalling software

To uninstall the iOLab application, simply delete the file. Your other iOLab files including data, calibrations, lessons, and lab reports will not be removed unless you also delete them from your Documents/IOLab-Workfiles folder.
