ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM

A lively webinar for teachers and fellow scholars on helping students engage with, understand, and enjoy Shakespeare’s language.

Discuss strategies for teaching

  • how shifts in pronouns from “you” to “thou” can indicate an insult
  • how tropes, punning, and wordplay serve multiple functions
  • how the Oxford English Dictionary illuminates the connotations of key words like “honour,” “will,” “nature,” “art,” and “nothing”
