Illustrations can help students master principles of human communication by building student interest, inviting student participation, representing text content, clarifying a difficult text, and improving student recall.

In this presentation, we will cover the use of illustrations in teaching the topics covered in a typical Human Communication course, including perception, verbal/nonverbal communication, communication and culture, listening, interpersonal communication, group communication, and public speaking.
