Associate Professor of Communication StudiesJoshua Gunn is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies and Affiliate Faculty of Rhetoric and Writing, both at the University of Texas at Austin. He researches and teaches at the intersection of popular culture and mass media technology (e.g., music and cinema), and is currently working on a book about the ways in which recordings of human speech are used in various processes of cultural mourning. The first class Josh taught at the college level was Public Speaking in 1996. Based on his experiences teaching argumentation, interpersonal communication, and public speaking, Dr. Gunn has written a public speaking textbook titled Speech Craft.
