University 101, the University of South Carolina’s first-year seminar, is grounded in ongoing and action-oriented assessment. While it is important to know a first-year seminar works (e.g., it positively impacts student learning, success and retention), it is also important to know why it works and what aspects of the program make the most impact on student success. The presenter will share how assessment is used to ensure and improve quality across components of the first-year seminar program.
