It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing this weekend of ground-breaking economist, professor, and Macmillan Learning author Alan Krueger. We’ve had the pleasure of working with and learning from Alan for more than 15 years and deeply admired his commitment to secondary and post-secondary education, both as an instructor and researcher at Princeton and through his authorship. He believed strongly that through an understanding of economics, students would be better learners and develop practical skills to make them better decision makers.
While Alan was widely known for his public service as an economist who served in both the Clinton and Obama administrations and for leading ground-breaking research in labor economics, specifically on minimum wage policies, we knew him as part of the Macmillan family of authors. We are proud to have published his book Explorations in Economics, which serves as another tribute to his scholarship and commitment to education.
